George's Story...
I’m George and I’m about 18 years old. I’m really shy at first, but once I get comfortable with you I talk up a storm! I can also whistle, sing, and dance but just wait until I start making my animal impressions! Some of my fan’s favorites are a duck, monkey, dog, and a chicken! I definitely keep my foster family entertained. I am a picky eater and only ate Zupreem with some sunflower seeds as a treat. However, I am enjoying my new 3-pellet blend mixed with chop and I LOVE almonds in the shell. I don’t like to step up when I am in my cage, but I will step up when I am outside of my cage. I rarely get aggressive, but sometimes new things really scare me. I do have to tell you that I’m not really into affection, but I do love to be near the action. My idea of a great night is hanging out with the family on my playstand. I just need to find someone who has the patience to wait until I overcome my shyness and then we’ll become great friends!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

George, a Tampa African Grey was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a African Grey for sale in Tampa, or seeking a African Grey from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even African Grey breeders who help with African Grey rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
