Princess's Story...
This "Princess" is available for adoption! Adult Lab-Pit-Cattle dog Mix!

Princess never met a snooze button she didn’t like. This 4 year old Lab-Pit-Cattle dog mix has perfected the art of sleeping in down to a science. Between the couch and the bed, Princess is all about lying in the lap of luxury—or at least some nice warm covers. And who can blame her? Before OPH came to her rescue, Princess was a bit short in the extravagance department; she gave birth to nine puppies on a concrete slab in a rural North Carolina shelter, and very quickly realized that she was facing some desperate circumstances. But this little girl has always had wealth where it’s most important—her heart. She and her pups were taken in, and mostly due to her generous mothering skills, her wonderful puppies have all found great homes. Princess’s benevolent reign extends to all in her doggy kingdom…but we’ve noticed she has a special place in her heart for children, whom she adores unequivocally. She does need to be the queen bee around other dogs, although a slow and appropriate introduction, such as she received in her foster home, has allowed for a harmonious rule in her benevolent monarchy. Beauty sleep, as previously mentioned, is very important to keep her golden coat lush, and wonderfully free of shedding. However, Princess can easily be coaxed to walk about the empire in walks or hikes, and loves to play with people and other dogs. You won’t find a pup more anxious to please her human subjects; she respects baby gates, is crate-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is happily learning all of her basic commands. She already has house-breaking—er, castle-breaking—down perfectly. Cuddling and tummy rubs are the richest things in life; far from being high-maintenance, Princess seeks the greatest treasure ever; a permanent home with people she can shower with love and kisses. Meet our golden-furred beauty—you just may find yourself regally captivated.

Warning; viewing these two videos of Princess may cause you to experience overwhelming feelings of happiness and attachment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess, a Frederick Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
