Update from foster 12/11/14
So it has been two years now in my foster home, I don't really understand why I keep getting overlooked, I am a sweet girl and really want a family of my own but now it is even more important for me to find a home see my foster mom she has to move and I can't go with her. I am a well behaved girl, don't get me wrong I am not perfect but I do try hard to be good. Once in awhile I might have an accident if you forget to take me for walk but I don't do that too often. I don't mind cats so if you have a cat you don't have to worry, and I like most other dogs as long as they are nice to me. I do have some very special fence climbing skills so I can climb right out of a chain link fence but I would be very happy if my new family could take me for long walks, that is one of my favorite things to do. I am a gentle girl and I don't mind being around children, my foster family has three small children so I am used to being around children. I am crate trained but my foster mom she let's me decide if I want to sleep in it or not, she told me I graduated cause I have grown up and don't get into mischief so much anymore. I only have a couple months left in my foster home so if you would like to get to know me either as your foster dog or even better if you would like to meet me to adopt me please fill out an application, I am waiting patiently for my dream of finally finding my forever home to come true.
Update from foster 2/20/14
Sweet April is a well behaved higher energy lady who is a housebroken, crate trained very gentle girl. April gets along with most all dogs but she can act a bit bossy if allowed to get away with it but she lives and plays with dogs of all sizes, male and female and she is good as gold and when she tries to boss another dog around she will back down and leave the dog alone as soon as the other dog shows their displeasure in her trying to boss them around. April will steal things and chew them so she still needs a bit of maturing when it comes to swiping things but she will allow you to take anything from her. April is ok with cats, she might chase an outside cat but she doesn't pay much attention to any of my indoor cats, she also lives with three small children and she is very good with them also. April needs lots of exercise to use up that energy she has but when she gets enough exercise she is very well behaved and quiet in the house. April is not the bravest girl in the world and it will take a little bit of time for her to adjust to her new home, she will need lots of hugs and reassurance that everything is ok. April has been with me for over a year so she believes we are her family so when she does leave to her forever home it will be most important to understand that April is going to feel confused and shake from nerves for a bit of time. When April goes to adoption events, she has a tough time leaving with the people bringing her to the event and she tries to stay with me and I can pretty much guarantee she will do the same with her new family. April will be such a wonderful dog for the family who is patient enough to give April the time she needs to adjust to her new life. April can climb fences and does like to wander, that is the hound in her so walks on leash or a six foot fence is necessary. April does have the typical hound bark and is an average barker when outside but really quiet inside. If you think April is the girl for you please fill out an application so you can meet this wonderful girl.
