Sally's Story...
Hi, my name is Sally. I am a beautiful long hair dapple dachshund and I am about 2 ½ years old. I am a very friendly, sweet, sweet girl and live to snuggle. I love, love, love to take walks and ride in cars. I’m not shy at all and get along well with everyone. I love being around other dogs, but not too good with cats because I like to chase them. I am living with 4 cats in my foster home and learning not to chase them but its a work in progress. I had some housebreaking issues, but someone worked with me on that I have gotten better. I just need a little more help in that area. I was discovered in my home with my babies and their father, abandoned by my owner. Remember the movie “Harry met Sally”? Well, my babies’ daddy’s name is Harry (he is also up for adoption). I would love to go with him if possible, but if I can’t, I understand. I’ve been moved around a bit and I just want to find someone who will love me forever.

Please email if you are interested in meeting her so we can let you know which adoption event she will be attending.

Sally is around 3yrs old and about 15lbs. Updated on shots, spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sally, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
