My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cosmo is a 2-3 year old very sweet male Pekingese that has tested positive for heartworm. The cure can be very expensive, and, sadly, not very pleasant for the dog undergoing it. He will need to be kept quiet and sedentary in a crate for the duration of his treatments. This could have been prevented with a $3.75 pill once a month - at least during mosquito season. The good news is that he shouldn't suffer any ill affects afterward. While he won't leave foster care until he proves to be heartworm negative (and also can't be neutered until then), we will be taking applications for the little guy so that he won't have to wait so long afterward. Cosmo is being fostered in southeast Virginia and his asking adoption fee is $275. Donations for his treatment will be very much appreciated and Cosmo will personally thank his sponsors!
