My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note: Charlie is part of a bonded pair of Yorkie Mix Dogs that will need to be adopted together - please also see Murphy, a Yorkie-Poo (Yorkie, Miniature Poodle) who is also listed seperately.
Bio Update 08/21/12 Charlie and Murphy are a dynamic duo who bring a smile to foster mom's face each and everyday. Charlie is 3 years old, weighs 7 pounds, and is mixed with possibly either Daschund or Chihuahua. (Earlier thought to possibly be mixed with Miniature Schnauzer) Murphy is almost 3 years old , weighs 9 pounds, and is a Yorkie-Poo. They were surrendered by an owner who relocated to Japan. They are neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, house trained, and leash trained. They have been together since they were puppies and are a bonded pair. They will need to be adopted together. They have such a sweet relationship with one another. They cuddle together and play together all the time. They even sleep in the same crate, although both would prefer to be spend the night in a real bed with people! As much as these guys like to be together, they have very different personalities. Charlie is more independent. He likes to be outside (a fully fenced in backyard will be required) watching squirrels and playing with the dogs in the neighboring yards. He has a confident personality, is smart, and very cuddly. He trots around with a smile on his face all day long. Murphy requires a little more attention than his brother. He is very loyal and protective and will attach himself to anyone who shows him love and affection. He will thank you by giving you smooches. He growls when he becomes insecure and barks at strangers who approach. Usually a firm command will correct this behavior. Both boys are friendly with children and get along well with other dogs. Love is the most important thing they need, so if you are looking to add two cuties to your family please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.uyr.us or email me with specific questions at yorkierescue1@gmail.com
Initial Bio 07/31/12: Meet Charlie...the newest kid on the UYR block. Charlie is possibly a Snorkie (Yorkie + Miniature Schnauzer) who just turned 3 years old in June. He has a Yorkie face and a Schnauzer coat, which is hard and wiry on the top, but soft on the belly. Charlie has a very sweet disposition. He is a happy boy who is loving and likes to give kisses. He also enjoys cuddling and being pet. He gets along with other dogs (not sure about cats) and does not mind children. Charlie is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and weighs 7 pounds. He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! A fenced in backyard would be ideal. He came to UYR with his pal Murphy. The two boys are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their previous owner is in the military and is being stationed in Japan for the next 2 years. Her family was helping her care for the boys, but they are no longer able to do it. Charlie and Murphy would be a great addition to a family who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
