Ana's Story...
Ana showed up on the patio of one of our foster homes looking for food one evening. We captured her and brought her in. After 36 hours of being the most ferocious little 2 pound weakling, she calmed down and became a total lovebug. She loves attention and likes to cuddle up on your chest and purr. Ana is very playful and has a lot of energy. She is constantly playing with her fuzzy mice, ball chaser, string toys and stuffed animals. Her favorite is a small yellow stuffed duck that she carries around in her mouth throughout the house. She has brought out the playful side of some of our other fosters who normally don't interact with other cats very often. She doesn't hesitate to do a sneak attack and jump on them playfully when they are not watching, usually resulting in the two rolling and playing across the rug. She loves to eat and can hear the sound of a can opening from two rooms away. Ana will make a great companion to your family and existing pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ana, a Barnegat Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Barnegat, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Barnegat.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Barnegat already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Barnegat breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Barnegat paves the way for another one to be saved.
