Mercury's Story...
Mercury

Est. DOB: March 28, 2012
Description: DSH Russian Blue Mix
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $100.00

Mercury is a sweet boy with beautiful silver gray fur. He would like a home with another high energy cat to play with, this boy likes to play hard! Mercury tends not to seek out attention but enjoys snuggles when approached.

He is a door curious cat who was returned by a home that had small children where he kept getting outside. He tends to roam when he gets outside but his current foster home doesn’t have any trouble keeping him indoors. We feel he would be best in a home without small children as he is easy to keep indoors in an adult home and would be safest.

He likes to sit on the cat tree in his foster home and watch the outdoors from a safe perch.

Mercury gets along with other cats after proper introductions. He was found as a stray when he was just a kitten.

Fully vetted: tested for FeLV/FIV (negative unless otherwise noted); treated for intestinal parasites, fleas, and ear mites; FVRCP+FeLV vaccinated (initial vaccination and booster); and rabies vaccinated; spayed/neutered; microchipped with Home Again microchips with shelter paid registration.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mercury, a Apex Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Apex, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Apex.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Apex already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Apex breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Apex paves the way for another one to be saved.
