Darby's Story...
YEEEHAAAA I’m fast and fun, like the Kentucky Darby! Wait it’s Derby? Well darn, that sure messes up my flow…well anyway, I’m fun, loving and just plum cute. Now I don't always get along with everybody I meet…I can be a tad protective and need a little time to warm up to new people. A family with kids 10+ will be more my style. I love to play with other dogs and I let me tell ya, I love a good cat chase!…. I’m still a puppy at heart, and I still need (and want) lots of training and guidance. I am housebroken already and crate trained too, besides I’m smart as a whip and I love treats and toys, so continued training will not only be a blast, it should pretty easy too! Are you Ready? Get ready for the Kentucky Darby! 16 months old-18lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; neuter, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darby, a Portland Pug/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Corgi for sale in Portland, or seeking a Pug/Corgi dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Corgi breeders who help with Pug/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
