Tonka's Story...
The name's Tonka but everyone just calls me Goofball. I am a happy go lucky sort of boy looking for a fun family with a sense of humor and a soft spot for silly boys….not only am I kinda goofy looking'…with these stubby little legs…but I have a personality that will always keep you laughing. I love to play with other dogs, and chasing and playing with kitty cats is a blast! I enjoy cuddling on the couch, licking your face and chewing on my toys (and sometimes things that aren't my toys!) Remember, I am just a pup- so I could use some training and guidance to be become a perfect pet. I am crate trained already and very attentive, so teaching me new things should be a cinch. I may be short on legs, but I'm long on love! So bring home this lil Goofball and bring on the laughs! 6 months old-26lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes; microchip, neuter, reduced cost Training class, free veterinary exam , 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tonka, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Dachshund breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
