Castor's Story...
Castor (Oyl) is one of the Popeye "litter" . He is an 18 month old shorthaired brown tabby with white on his toes and belly. He came to us from a hoarder situation. Castor has been an indoor only cat. He has lived with numerous cats. He is a playful boy-loves to bat around balls, fake mice, and crinkly things. I wonder if he'd ever seen a toy before coming to us. He has tried out every one at the Cattery I think. He is a bit shy with people at first but has really come to like ear and chin rubs.He does ok with the other cats. He mostly stays out of their way. He loves to spend time on the outdoor fenced in porches. As with all cats adopted through PAWS, Castor has been vetted, vaccinated-including rabies, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Castor, a Bainbridge Island Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bainbridge Island, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bainbridge Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bainbridge Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bainbridge Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bainbridge Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
