Could this be your new best friend?
This beautiful soul came in as one of the worst neglect cases we have seen. We don't know what her life held before she managed to drag herself to the doorstep of the Good Samaritan who brought her to Fuzzy Friends, but we know it wasn't good. Corina, who appears to be a Chocolate Lab or Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, weighed only 24 lbs, was high heartworm positive, and on the verge of death. A lingering twitch when she walks makes it seem likely that she is also a distemper survivor. It took months to build her strength up so she could finally go through her heartworm treatment, and she has just finished her post-injection month of cage rest.
Corina is a very special girl with a heart of gold. She functions with the maturity level of a 3-4 month old puppy. A recent evaluation with a behaviorist has uncovered suspected physical abuse in her past, on top of the neglect - she moves and acts as if she was used to being hit around the head. She does not have the body language of a normal dog. Despite that, she is learning how to play well with other dogs. We don't know that she will ever be able to regain the time she lost, but we do know that when she trusts people, she lavishes her love and attention on them. Corina will need a special adopter who is up for dealing with a 50lb eternal puppy. If you think you might be that person, please stop by for a visit!
Corina's recovery was made possible through generous donations to our Angel Heart Medical Fund. If you can be an angel for the animals, please click here to donate: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=XPECZSMUT7EA8

Shelter Info...
Fuzzy Friends Rescue believes that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for the animals. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need. We want to instill in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization that cares for homeless and unwanted animals in a life-care environment. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another, and we care for all those we take in until they are adopted.
We try to place these animals in new homes with caring families as soon as possible. Some stay at Fuzzy Friends Rescue only a matter of days or weeks, but sometimes it takes months of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. In some cases for those harder- to- place animals, their stay may be a year or more. Unless they have developed an incurable disease or they are aggressive they have a home at Fuzzy Friends Rescue until they can be found a permanent, loving home.
We are open Monday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (closed Sunday)

IN ORDER TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, you must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have legal identification with your current address
• Be able to verify that you can have a pet where
you live if you rent or proof that you own your home.
After your complete an adoption application, it is sent to our review board, this process takes about 24 – 48 hours. If approved, you will be asked to come back to the facility to complete the formal adoption process.
Understand that FUZZY FRIENDS RESCUE reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.
No animal is more valuable than any other. The difference in fees is to help us cover the expense of caring for the younger animals since they require more vaccinations and medical expense than a lot of the adult animals. Also, the older animals are often over looked and the reduction in their fee will hopefully help place them in homes so they can live out their retirement years being loved in a home environment.
