Lucy's Story...
My adoption fee is only $75! Woof! My name's Lucy. I am a beautiful 9-year-old red Chow Chow mix girl. I need to be homed with children who are at least 12 years of age. I am a social dog who tolerates most handling, takes treats nicely, and likes squeaky toys. Please consider adopting me today if there are no young children (under 12 years of age) in your household.

All shelter pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped upon adoption. Dogs adopted to residents of Chula Vista will also receive a free one-year license.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Chula Vista Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Chula Vista, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Chula Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chula Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chula Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chula Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
