My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, Churn here. My foster family says I am just a big sweetheart. My fav thing is to put my head in your lap, and stand there for as long as you will rub my cheeks and head.

I have two beagle sisters in my foster home that I get along awesome with. Though I do like to stretch out on the couch and take up most of it, so I do get looks from them once in awhile. LOL I have met several other boy dogs, and we have had a couple of other boy beags stay here. The really laid back ones I didn’t seem to mind for the most part. But a couple of the other boys got humpy, and I did not appreciate them at all, or if they acted at all like they wanted to be top boy.

I have just started to show my playful side, and will run around the yard with a toy. My younger foster sister tries to get me to play, and I have for a few seconds here and there. But I don’t really seem to understand that she wants to play.

I am crated during the day, and sometimes at night. I have no problems with the crate, and go right in for a treat. I have not had an accident in the crate, and it is a minimum of 9 hours during the day.

Most nights though, foster dad lets me sleep where I want. And it is usually on the recliner in the bedroom. And I sleep all night. Or if we get up for breakfast early, I will go back to bed after we eat. Foster dad loves this trait!! Foster dad says I love the recliner, and might have to send it with me!!

I walk pretty decent for a beagle boy. I am fairly strong, so you will need to hold on tight. I also do fine in the car. I either sit, or lay down on the back seat. I do seem to get excited when I think you are leaving, like I need to go with, so you will need to be careful going out the door.

We have a fenced yard here, and I love to go out and just lay in the sun. Foster daddy has been putting me on a tie out for practice, and I don’t seem to mind it. I do have some prey drive, and will bay sometimes but not a lot, and like to bark at foster daddy to hurry up with supper but that is about it.

Speaking of my prey drive. Foster daddy caught me half way under the chain link fence one day. But hey, if the rabbits can go in and out there, I should be able to follow them. So if you have critters, you will need to recheck your fence for weak spots. Foster dad says I am a bigger boy, but amazingly agile.

Overall my foster family says I am just a big ol happy boy, tail always wagging, who loves to be by people, and be loved. You see the picture of me with the fish? Foster daddy says just like the fish, I am a keeper.

P.S. Churn also wanted to let you know that he has another reference besides his foster parents. Another foster family that he spent Labor day weekend with said he was great and welcome back anytime.
