Barney's Story...
Barney is a Take Me Home courtesy post. He is not affiliated with Take Me Home and not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. For more information on Barney, please contact contact Lisa at Lirogo27@aol.com or call 818-371-2527.

Barney was left like trash in a box outside a high kill shelter, and was rescued just before euthanasia. We saw his soulful little eyes and could not let him die. Barney is 7 lbs of pure love, a funny, special little guy who just wants to be loved. Barney adores other dogs of all sizes, he is a little flirt with people, and he loves kids too. He seems to know he has been given a second shot at life: we would be hard-pressed to find something this little ball of affection does not adore.

Barney is house-trained and knows basic commands, he is a smart little two year old boy who is waiting patiently for the person who will open their heart and lap to him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Santa Monica Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
