Orpheus's Story...
Hi there. My name is Orpheus and I am the best cat in the world. I am a super friendly, very handsome, 4 year old cat. I came to VPAS recently because my mom could not afford to look after me on her student income. I am a very special cat and the folks at VPAS say that it wont take me long at all to find a home. I get along well with other cats and with kids, but I don't have experience with dogs. At the moment I have a few bald patches near my head from where I scratched my fur off. I am allergic to fleas and to fish so I have to be kept on Advantage year-round and I can only eat fish-free foods. Unfortunately, in my last home the neighbours kept feeding me foods that I was allergic too. It was so yummy that I could not resist and I ended up scratching at myself and causing these terrible bald patches. Now that I am on fish-free food my fur has almost completely grown back and I am ready to find a home. Will it be with you?

**Please note that Orpheus is currently at PetSmart in Langford (Millstream Road) for adoption. If you would like to visit him please visit him there. **

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Orpheus, a Saanichton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Saanichton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Saanichton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saanichton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saanichton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saanichton paves the way for another one to be saved.
