My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flash is a 4 year old handsome white with red brindle patches boy. He just retired from a moderate race career. Flash is probably fine with dog 25- 30 lbs, but smaller dogs are cats are not for him.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Flash is a confident, assertive, friendly, happy greyhound that learns new things quickly. He enjoys spurts of playfulness and then assumes the couch position posture. Flash is a social greyhound that gets along with other dogs, some, as small as 25-30 lbs. Anything smaller or perhaps a cat, Flash is probably not compatible. Flash can become possessive with toys and a little too excited if he’s romping with a pack of dogs, so supervision by his adopter will avoid nipping becoming an issue. Flash is an affectionate dog that would do well in a home with other dogs, or in a home as the only dog, as long as he receives lots of attention and is not left alone on a regular basis for long periods. Flash likes his toys, is doggie door trained, and not destructive in the home so he is not crated. As a confident greyhound that seems to be fearless, Flash does not flinch from unusual or loud noises, and will voice his barking opinion on topics that interest him. Flash is housetrained, but has a tendency to mark new territory if left unattended. The foster guardians are working on this issue. No food issues have surfaced, but Flash is only fed premium kibble without grains. Flash is fortunate to have a huge back yard within which to play, but when his foster guardians walk him, he only pulls a little on the leash. Grooming is sheer heaven for Flash. He loves to be touched and doted on, especially stroking his ears. It sends him into ecstasy! Flash responds to the commands Come, No, Let’s eat, Out, and he knows his name and comes when called. This beautiful boy is ready for a permanent home with affectionate people. His foster guardians have done a fabulous job teaching Flash to be a gentleman in the home. Yes, there are a few rough edges, but Flash is a quick learner, and a loving adopter will nudge him into shape in no time.

Flash has an adoption pending.
