Hi! I am Ellie Mae, and I am miserable! Well, I was, but I'm on my way to feeling better, thanks to SEPRA. I am almost 6 years old and I've spent my whole life itching and scratching. I lived with the same family all my life and they did all kinds of stuff to figure out why I was so itchy--baths, shots, scrapes, tests--you name it, I think they did it! I guess it just got to be too much for them and they had to give me up. You might think with all I've been through I'd be grumpy, but my foster mom says I'm very sweet and playful. I've adapted quickly to my new foster home and I'm getting along great with my foster sisters (and one of them is a pesty little puppy!) I have very good manners, and, of course, I'm house trained. I love to walk on a leash and play in a fenced yard (for short periods of time). I really just like hanging out with my foster mom wherever she is.
It looks like most of my allergies are environmental, and not much can be done to completely avoid them so we just have to treat them. I am trying a combination of 2 medicines and hope that will relieve my itching. I'm on a good food so that helps, too. If you think you'd like to take me on, I promise I'll be well worth your time! Hi there! It's Ellie Mae again, just checking in. I've been in my foster home for a month now and I'm really loving it. I wouldn't mind staying here forever, but they tell me that's not the plan. The whole idea of a foster home is to look for a forever home somewhere else. You might remember I came to SEPRA with really bad skin allergies. Well, I've been on these two medicines, and they are really helping. I hardly ever scratch anymore! I feel so much better! I'm playing like a young puppy again!
My foster mom is amazed at how well-behaved I am. I stand at the couch and wait to be invited up. I never just jump up without being asked. I haven't had a single accident the whole time I've been here, and I get along great with everyone I meet--two-legged and four-legged varieties!
We added some new pictures to my photo album, so please check out how much better I lookhttp://community.webshots.com/user/penguinpug100 and also please consider filling out an adoption application with MY name on it!
Happy Fall, y'all! It's Ellie Mae again. I'm STILL here at my foster home. If I don't get adopted soon, I won't want to leave here at all. And it's going to be really hard for my foster mom to let me go, too.
I'm such a great little pug. We can't figure out why I haven't been adopted yet. Maybe it's because I look older in my pictures than I really am. I'm only 6, almost 7, but I seriously don't act my age. I play with my foster sister who just turned a year old and she can barely keep up with me! We roll around and wrestle and chase each other and play tug of war until my foster mom has to make us stop because she's afraid we're wearing each other out. I hope when I get my new home I have a younger brother or sister because I LOVE to play!
You might be wondering about my allergies. Good news there! I'm down to just one medication. It is kind of expensive but it sure does make me feel a lot better so I think it is worth it. We figured out for sure that I'm allergic to wheat and sweet potatoes so as long as I'm on the right kind of food, I'm OK there. I have to be careful about treats, too, but I've learned to like carrots and those are good for me!
The website that has my photo album is closing, so now it is at this link:https://picasaweb.google.com/109732701228794051804/40EllieMae. Please go there and see some of my latest pictures.
Yep, I'm still here. We don't understand why nobody has adopted me because I'm really a wonderful little pug. I'm perfectly housetrained and very friendly. I do have these pesky allergies and I know my medicine is kind of expensive, but once you meet me you'll realize I'm worth every penny! It keeps me relatively itch-free and soooo much more comfortable. I still LOVE going outside, either for leash walks or just out in the back yard. I will turn 7 in June and I really hope I'll be in my furever home by then. Here are some new pictures of me and don't forget to apply for me!
