Darlin' the "house hound"'s Story...
Darlin' is in foster care and will be transported from TN to the NE upon adoption. Alpha Dog Transport brings our rescue dogs north after adoption weekly leaving Friday night and arriving at one of their several stops in PA, NJ, CT, VT on Saturday. They charge $125 for their services and is paid to them when you claim your pup. They also hand off all the dog's vetting records. An adoption fee will also apply to cover the cost of that vetting and health certificate required by the transport.

Darlin' was relinquished to DDWTN because the family is moving and their new home does not take pets. . The majority of hounds around east Tennessee live on a chain or in a big pen with lots of other hounds. They are usually considered "tools" and do not get the attention a dog deserves. Darlin' has had that attention and is a wonderful, loving girl. She is a walker coonhound and is crate trained, house trained and loves everyone! Darlin' is 2 yrs. old and weighs aprx. 45-50 pounds. Because she is a hunting breed, she MUST have a fenced yard. Underground fencing will not be considered.

She is UTD on shots, spayed, HW negative and on flea/HW preventative. She just needs a forever home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darlin' the "house hound", a Providence English (Redtick) Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English (Redtick) Coonhound for sale in Providence, or seeking a English (Redtick) Coonhound dog from a breeder in Providence.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Providence already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Providence breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English (Redtick) Coonhound breeders who help with English (Redtick) Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Providence paves the way for another one to be saved.
