Milkshake's Story...
Milkshake is an adorable, bold, curious, talkative, gentle, active, super-friendly, snuggly, and playful, one-year-old, male, black and white kitty with golden eyes looking for a loving guardian. Milkshake loves people; he purrs and purrs and greets visitors to his home like a dog! He also loves to play with and groom the other cats in his foster home. He also loves to play with toys – especially his feather toy. He also likes to play cat games on his foster folks i-pad … he’s quite tech savvy! He’s comfortable in a new environment right away … no hiding for this boy. Milkshake came into Chicago Animal Care and Control as a stray, but it’s obvious he was someone’s housecat as he has absolutely perfect litter box habits and wants to be in the same room as his people at all times. Milkshake is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and virus-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact his foster mom Heidi at heidilau@yahoo.com or Kat at kbudrean@hotmail.com or 312-823-9930. His adoption fee of $95 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Milkshake, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
