Peabody's Story...
Peabody is a 7.5 year old male Japanese Chin Mix weighing about 20lbs. He is friendly, social, and affectionate. He loves his walks and romps at the beaches and parks. At times he gets the zoomies and wants to chase some running dogs or have other dogs chase him. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and plays well with puppies, too, as long as they don't try to run roughshod over him.

This confident boy can sometimes be headstrong, so we are looking for an adult only home. He is possessive of high value treats and some objects but these can be easily traded for other treats he likes to eat. Peabody has been found to guard the living room from those who are not involved in his care. This can be managed with a short tie down until he learns it is not appropriate behavior. If the living room is an open floorplan with other rooms in the home, he does not do this.

His foster mom can pick him up and carry him around. He especially likes to be brushed and petted. In the home, he follows his foster mom around and also takes lots of naps in his bed or in a patch of sun. He already knows sit, down, high five & ten! Peabody is very housetrained and is very respectful of cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peabody, a San Francisco Japanese Chin/Tibetan Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Japanese Chin/Tibetan Terrier for sale in San Francisco, or seeking a Japanese Chin/Tibetan Terrier dog from a breeder in San Francisco.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Francisco already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Francisco breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Japanese Chin/Tibetan Terrier breeders who help with Japanese Chin/Tibetan Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Francisco paves the way for another one to be saved.
