Skylar's Story...
***Skylar is being posted as a Courtesy Listing and is not currently in the care of the Alternative Humane Society. *** Skylar is a very lovable 6 yr old , 80lb coonhound mix. He loves to run and play ball . Skylar does love to play outside, but also likes to cuddle inside with his family. He plays well with dogs in the home setting. He is a good watch dog and barks to alert his owners. He lacks space to run and buddies to play with and could really use a new home with a playmate and land to roam. He gets excited when he sees other animals and whines and barks, but is not aggressive, just vocal when he is excited. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. Skylar will benefit with leash training and will be a great companion for an adult household with respectful older children. If you are interested in Skylar, please fill out a statement of interest form @ (under the ADOPT tab).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skylar, a Bellingham Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
