Maury's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Maury's Story...
Maury is a 6 year old, larger male basset hound with a very easy-going personality. Maury and his brother, a West Highland Terrier, were surrendered to a local shelter by lifetime owners who decided they didn’t want the responsibility of having dogs anymore. Depressed because his people abandoned him, Maury didn’t adapt well to the shelter environment. Could you be the right family to provide Maury a loving home where he will never be abandoned again?

Maury is housetrained and would make an excellent companion for a first time dog owner or experienced owner. Maury gets along well with other dogs, but would also be fine receiving all of the attention in a one-dog household. At the onset of meeting new people, Maury will initially duck when you try to pet the top of his head, however, this behavior disappears once he feels comfortable in a new environment, so we do not believe that Maury suffered any abuse, outside of having been abandoned by people that he knew and trusted.

Maury is neutered, microchipped, and current on all his shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maury, a Albuquerque Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Albuquerque, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Albuquerque.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albuquerque already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albuquerque breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albuquerque paves the way for another one to be saved.
