Sunny was found in a ditch on the side of the road, bound by his extremely matted hair and unable to move his back legs. A kind passerby brought him to a shelter, rather than let him die on the road. The shelter vet said that he may have been hit by a car, his back was broken and he was paralyzed from the waist down. Well that wasn't going to keep a good man down - - Sunny was fitted for a cart and hasn't skipped a beat since!!! He has been receiving "therapy" from his foster mom and has regained some movement in his legs. Sunny LOVES dogs, cats, and kids - - he is a high energy dog and keeps up with all of them!! He is super fast in his cart and gets around very easily! Sunny loves rope and squeaky toys and he will play fetch for hours (a sight to see!). Sunny will need a special home that can accommodate his cart and other issues: stairs are a problem and Sunny cannot control his bladder so he wears a belly band while indoors. He is fitted for a sack that he wears when he is out of his cart to hold his legs and keeps them from dragging the floor. Through it all, he is an inspiration and never meets a stranger - - a therapy dog in the making!! Sunny is about 3 years old and he's otherwise perfectly healthy. We think he is a Maltese-mix.
