Eli's Story...
Eli came in to the shelter as a stray in Sept, 2012. He is still very scared so we are taking it slow with him. We will introduce him to some other dogs slowly. Eli is up to date on shots and is around 1-2 years old.

Eli's assessment went pretty well. He is good with people and was not food or toy aggressive. He would however growl a little over a rawhide treat. The main problem Eli had was with other male dogs. Eli does prefer to be around female dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Eli, a New Cumberland Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer for sale in New Cumberland, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer dog from a breeder in New Cumberland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Cumberland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Cumberland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Cumberland paves the way for another one to be saved.
