Sebastian's Story...
NEED PERMANENT HOME OR FOSTER! These two handsome brothers are Sebastian (black/red) and Patches (redish/tan with black markings). They are long haired Dachshunds and very small. Sebastian is 15 pounds and Patches is 13 pounds. Their owner has major health issues and a father with cancer. She loves them and has taken very good care of them, but they are alone entirely too much. It would be great if they could find a home together, but they can be adopted seperately too. Both are sweet, playful, and very good with children.
Sebastian and Patches are almost 2 years old, current on their shots, neutered, heartworm tested and are given monthly flea and heartworm preventative. If you would like to meet them, email INFO@FORrescue.net. Sebastian is a courtesy listing for a fellow rescuer and isn't affiliated with FOR.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sebastian, a Huntsville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
