Daisy's Story...
Meet Daisy, a.k.a. the BEST dog ever. Daisy is an 8 year old purebred Golden Retriever and she is truly the best dog ever. She absolutely LOVES people - simply wants to be near you and loved on, content to lay at your feet for hours. She still likes to play and will run in the backyard to chase a tennis ball or sometimes a squirrel. She is 100% housebroken, and she is crate-trained - though she absolutely does not need to be crated. Daisy has the run of the house while her foster family is at work and she doesn't touch anything that isn't hers, with the exception of a paper towel that missed the garbage can once or twice. Daisy does fine with other dogs, small kids, or all on her own. She is just an absolute love. Daisy has Pigmentary Uveitis. You can read more about it here -- http://www.grca.org/pdf/health/PigmentaryUveitisRev_10-08.pdf -- this is very common in Goldens and can lead to blindness. Daisy takes daily eye drops and they seem to be helping - though she will always require regular follow ups with a veterinary ophthalmologist to control the condition. Daisy is spayed, current on all vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please email us info@FORrescue.net - SERIOUS inquiries only. Daisy is a very special girl and will be placed very carefully.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Huntsville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
