My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luis 3 to 4 yr old male red and white Turkish Angora

This nice boy was lost. A very kind lady fed him and tried to help him with posters and research for his family. He was living in the neighborhood outside her home and, much as she wanted to, she could not let him in with her other cats. After 6 weeks or so she contacted Purebreds. I agreed to take him as a foster if she would get a vet wellness exam and a combo test ( negative ) since he had been outside. She happily did that and drove him the almost three hours to bring him to me. The world is filled with unsung heroine cat rescuers.

Well I can see why she was so smitten with this boy. He is a big, beautiful, sweet cat. He arrived a bit stressed and unsettled but he unfolded himself day by day and soon showed us that he is a lap cat.
He had clearly been someone's treasured pet and didn't quite know how to adjust to a homeless life. We can tell he has been through a difficult time. It is always so frustrating not to know what has happened. ( If only they could talk...) We haven't had him long and I hadn't thought to post him for awhile but he is coming along so quickly I decided to go ahead and introduce him. He will be fine.
He has such a gentle loving nature. Sweet boy.

His rescuer brought us a photocopy of an article on Turkish Angoras.
He could have posed for the red and white Angora in the picture, and he even has the same markings on his head. Turkish Angoras cats are known for their intelligence and affectionate, curious natures. They are so smart they have their own opinions. Often they are comedians.
( You will never be bored with a Turkish Angora around.) They want to be at the very center of their owner's world. This loyal cat bonds VERY closely with his owners and may be more aloof with strangers.
The Turkish Angora is fine in a multi pet household as long as he or she is top cat or top pet in the owner's heart. This is a playful, athletic cat with long legs. Frequently they like high places - they are good jumpers- and would appreciate being given a cat tree or some high spot in which to look down on everyone prior to sleeping the afternoon away.

The Angoras are a very old breed, from Turkey originally, and they are thought to be the cats that were the precursors to persians.
giving them their long silky hair. Their fur is lovely to the touch
and yet is less prone to shedding than other breeds. They come in many color combinations. The white is most common, with the red and white a close second.

Luis does seems to be cat friendly and is actually pretty friendly to everyone.. Pet me, he says . He even offers up his tummy sometimes. His shyness still shows at times also.. His bond with his new owner will be of a different nature than what he offers to us.
Someone will be very lucky to have this guy's heart.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect. Catnip is a treat.

More/ and better photo's soon.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
