My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I got a great new forever home, boy am I a lucky guy!!!

No Phone Calls. Please email us at larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application to be approved. This nice senior dog will be a wonderful companion for you to love and spend quality time with.

My name is Big Boy Daddy. I am a friendly, very nice guy who has sadly come back into rescue. I will be 13 this year and I love being with people. I was adopted out to a nice guy and his girlfriend in 2016 when I was 9 years old. I was treated well and a house dog they kept clean and fed properly. They separated and he moved out. The girlfriend had me for the past 3 years and my life was good. Then she got pregnant and as it got closer to her due date she decided that she just couldn't care for me anymore so I was taken to a NC shelter. Luckily, I am micro-chipped so the owner of this rescue found out and came to get me. My life before coming to rescue in 2012 was pretty hard. I was deathly sick from severe anemia, hookworms, fleas, and heartworms. When these rescue people came for me I was close to dying. They took me in, got me vetted and worked to get me well. Under their care, I knew that I would live. The volunteers and supporters worked hard to get the money to pay for the medical care I needed. Shots, being neutered, and my heartworm treatment too. In 2016, I got lucky and found a great home. Unfortunately, that ended and now I am once again looking for a new home. I will do best in an all adult home as the only dog or I can possibly be with another very playful, socialized dog who would love to have a fun, goofy and very loving playmate. I am healthy, current on vet care and these folks are trying to raise the money to get a dental done for me.

I enjoy riding in a car, I am dog social and I am not aggressive at all. I am just an all-around happy guy that is pretty smart, plays with toys, and my house manners are pretty good. I do have crate anxiety. Before rescue saved me back in 2012, I was not well cared for and the people kept me outside in the heat and cold without protection. This said, thunder and lightning still make me a little nervous. My heart is so big, all I need is a home sweet home to share with someone who will appreciate me for the special guy that I am. I am currently being cared for in a foster home and I just had a dental done. I would love a home of my own and someone to love me. Fill out an application, get approved and come to see me, I'd love a chance to show you how nice I am. Yes, I am older, but please consider adopting me, I will be a wonderful dog for you to love.

My adoption fee is $100 to a forever, loving home.

If interested in adopting this wonderful furbaby, please email: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an application. Our adoption fee includes all the vetting & medical needs for the dog.
