Nelson's Story...
Nelson was found in Pullman wandering the alleys looking for food. He was very scared and hungry and eventually let us take him inside where he instantly settled in, happy to be off the streets. Nelson is still a little scared and timid and tends to hide at first, but he warms up quickly and becomes a perpetual purr-box when he settles into your arms. He is a loving kitty who just needs a little patience while he gets to know a new person. He was recently neutered and vaccinated, and tested neg/neg. He is about a year and a half old and is all black except for a few little white hairs right on top of his head. Nelson is a sweetie and will make a wondeful companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nelson, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
