Rocky's Story...
Hey there, my name is Rocky and i'm a solid 6.6 lb 5 month old Chihuahua / Peekapoo mix and tough little guy at that. My sister, Snow and I were rescued at just 3 days old by one of the Banfield veterinary techs at Petsmart Oakleaf, whose neighbor had a litter of 5 puppies including yours truly and my sister. As fate would have it the President of Paws 4 Humanity Inc works at Petsmart Oakleaf as a manager and that's how my sister and I came to the Paws 4 Humanity Inc rescue.
The neighbor to the nice Banfield vet tech owned both my mom (Chihuahua) and dad (Peekapoo) did not spay or neuter my mom or dad and there you have it. One fleeting moment of bliss and a couple of months later here are 5 tiny puppies needing to be cared for. Shortly after we were born, I was too small to remember, my mom passed away from the stress of having us puppies. Not knowing what to do our human dad went next door to our rescuer, the vet tech, in a panic asking what to do to care for us 4 little bundels of joy (my last sibling was born stillborn). Once he discovered how much work it was to care for us, he surrendered Snow and I over to the Banfield tech so she could take care of us, feed us and give us a chance at life. When we were just 7 days old the Banfield tech spoke to the President of Paws 4 Humanity Inc and here we are being fostered by such a wonderful rescue organization. Snow and I are very lucky to be cared for by our foster family who loves and cares for us dearly.
My foster family tells me that I am a smart little guy. I know sit, lay down and come when called. For the most part I am a quiet pup, but when I get excited or get spooked I'm not afraid to let out my mighty bark. I like stuffed toys and tug toys, as its hard for me to fit a ball in my mouth so i'm not real acquainted to fetch. Cats are interesting but I don't bark or chase them. I like little kids but i'm pretty small so its probably good idea to supervise me with them until I'm a little older. One thing I am really good at is cuddling. I lay on my back like a baby and unlike a lot of puppies my age I don't wiggle around in peoples arms but I do give kisses. Some times I can be pretty mellow and happy just laying around with you. With other dogs I can be pretty shy but I do warm up after awhile and become playful. Like most chihuahuas socialization is important so I don't get what they call "small dog syndrome" - who are you kidding - this stud muffin. Like they always say great things come in small packages and my sister Snow and I are no exception.

If you would like to meet yours truly and fall in love with my cutie pie good looks and are looking for a gentle and sweet boy then I am your man. Please contact Paws 4 Humanity Inc at 904 771-9516 or email paws4humanity@att.net to request an adoption application which is the first step in their adoption process. Once your adoption application is approved you will then be able to me yours truly. My sweet personality and my compact little size will undoubtedly pull at your heartsrings where you can't help but want to bring me home. I look forward to meeting you and shariing with you all of my love and kisses that I have to give so that you will want to take me home forever! Love and kisses - Rocky.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Orange Park Chihuahua/Pekingese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pekingese for sale in Orange Park, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pekingese puppy from a breeder in Orange Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orange Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orange Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pekingese breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orange Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
