Danny's Info...

I am purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Danny's Story...
Danny is a purebred mahogany sable-headed White male Collie about 15 weeks old. He and his 3 siblings were put into the night drop box at the Oakland Animal Shelter and found by shelter employees the morning of June 13th.

Danny is ready to find his forever home. He is a social little fellow who plays well with other dogs and is happy to share toys. Danny loves to paw the feet, and play with the ankles of his human companions and loves to go for walks. He also chooses to play gently and does not like excessive rough play. He is a quiet and gentle pup and has been very good with our cat.

While Danny does sleep through the night without accidents in his crate if taken out just before bed, he is after all a kennel puppy and is in the process of being house-trained. Danny will walk on a leash, but training classes would encourage bonding to his person. At 15 weeks, Danny will be losing his baby teeth over the next few weeks and he appreciates and needs all kinds of chew toys.

Danny would do best in the company of another gentle young dog, and, because he is just a puppy, he should not go to a home with young children as he is all puppy paws. New 07/09/2007

If you have the energy and patience for a gentle young collie, Danny's adoption fee is $500. Please contact Billie at: billie@calcollierescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Danny, a Redwood City Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Redwood City, or seeking a Collie puppy from a breeder in Redwood City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Redwood City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Redwood City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Redwood City paves the way for another one to be saved.
