My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MONTECOUR AKA MONTE
8 year old Male Blue & White Bicolor Persian

Look at this pretty boy!! He is adorable. He came to us from way down in Southern California where he was living in the garage of a big empty house that was up for sale. He was definitely ready for the ride we found for him to bring him up here to us. And weren't we delighted to meet him! What a great cat!!
He was bought from a registered breeder at 7 weeks and two days old to be a present for the daughter of his family. So young to be taken away from his mom. That is a hard start in life for a tiny little kitten. We do have the papers on him which is how we know the dates. The daughter is now in college and he became odd man out. He will be so happy to be loved all the time and in the center of his new family's life.
He is a fairly big cat for a Persian. He has beautiful lines and is a delight to watch as he moves about. Currently he is sporting a lion cut which is growing in fuzzy and soft. His face is perfect. I love his deadpan expressions.
Monte is quite a character. Even more than most persians he wants to be involved in what you are doing. He follows you around. opens cabinet doors, helps you with your chores, lies on your newspaper, occasionally knocks over a wastepaper basket just to see what's inside. He is going to be involvd in everything going on. Opening a cat food can gets him running pell mell to you. I think he was often put in the four car garage (not just as his family moved) so he really wants to be included in the life of his humans. People have described him as part dog. He is definitely a lap cat and sometimes will swat you as you put him down ( claws generally retracted). He has opinions. He is super fun.
He eats wet and dry and is litterbox perfect. Medically he seems to have been well cared for and he is the picture of health. He gets along with other cats. I would not set him up in a home with another devoted lap cat since he thinks laps are made just for his pleasure. I doubt he wants to compete with children for your attention either so a home with no young children would be best for him. He lived happily with a Bichon Frise.
His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
P.S. Montecour is the name of one of Siegfried and Roy's white tigers.
