Brandi!'s Story...
Brandi (formerly Bear) was abandoned by another rescue for 4 months in a boarding facility. Previous to her first rescue she resided in a Detroit junkyard and had not socialized with people. Brandi is in a foster home now where she is building the confidence she needs. She is about 3 years old and a Pit mix. After Misfits rescued Brandi her Heartworm test was positive. 09-04-12 We will be testing Brandi in another month and ALL PAWS crossed she will be negative! UPDATE: 07.23.12 Brandi went in today for her 2nd and 3rd heartworm treatments, the foster Dad, Chris, stated she's doing very well and was very happy to be home!! In another 3 months she will be tested for heartworm again.. and paws crossed she will be negative! UPDATE : 3/26/12 we received sad news today that Brandi's heartworm test yielded positive results. Stage 2. UPDATE: 3/27/12 Spoke with dr. today. Brandi will begin a treatment of Doxy for 30 days and then begin injections. We are looking at about 3 series of injections. She will be requiring more blood work & xrays. UPDATE: 5/17/12 Brandi is doing great in her foster home. She is becoming more confident every day. She now hangs out with her foster dad in the living room every night. Brandi really loves her foster brothers and wants to play play play. Soon girl....soon you can play all you want. Brandi will start Immiticide injections on June 6, 2012. Hang in there sweetheart!!
