BODHI's Story...

Are you an active, fun, patient, loving person who is looking for a great canine companion? I am about 2 years old and weigh 35 pounds. I was rescued by HFHAF about a year ago when I was just out of puppy hood. I was abandoned out in the country and my owners could not be found. I am not sure what breeds I am but Shepherd/Labrador/Terrier is my best guess. I am a little shy with new people but I am curious and love to be petted. I loke to be with people and I am affectionate. I get along with dogs and tend to be on the submissive side. I'm not an alpha dog. I am a very young playful boy with an amazing personality! I enjoy running, playing, talking, learning about the world with my foster guardian and other foster companions. My foster guardian takes me to the park daily before we go for our hour long walk. Sometimes we go to the lakes or nearby river for a few hours so I can explore nature with my foster friends. I like to look out the window whenever we go on our road trips. The world looks better now that I am no longer starving on the streets. I am loved and loving. Bodhi is the perfect name for me. Because Humanity For Healthy Animals Foundation believes that all dogs should be treated as part of the family and need regular excersice, I will only be adopted out to the best possible family. That means that I should be allowed in the house with you when you are home and to sleep at night and I would like to go for walks with you. Please contact Rassami, my foster guardian, for the details of my rescue. I am a very lucky boy and I know that I will be a blessing to the person(s) who will love me unconditionally for the rest of my life. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Yours truly,

Bodhi

All of our adoptable animal companions are in foster homes. If you would like to meet this pet please email rassami@hfhaf.org. Before we arrange a personal meeting with one of our dogs we ask that you fill out an adoption application that we will send to you. We would like to determine that this pet will be a good fit for your family. Before you take home your new pet, a home visit is also required. If you live outside of the Fresno area, we can still arrange a home visit. Our adoption/rehoming fee for each animal companion varies depending on a number of factors. HFHAF is run solely by volunteers so it may take us a few days to get back to you.

About Our Rescue Group...
Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation (HFHAF) is an animal welfare charitable non-profit organization, Tax ID # 45-0678079. Although we can accept donations, host fund-raising events, and apply for grants, we are waiting for our 501(c) 3 application to be reviewed and approved. The Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation’s mission is to promote the humane treatment of all animal companions, and to reduce the number of homeless animal companions in the City of Fresno.

Our Services:

1. To promote the health and well-being of the City of Fresno’s animal companions, HFHAF will provide educational assistance to its residents on how to keep their animal companions healthy and safe.

2. To initiate and support various health-focused activities and/or projects.

3. To help reduce the number of homeless animal companions at our overcrowded local shelters, HFHAF will promote foster and volunteer programs that are already in place at local rescue groups. We will seek assistance from reputable low-kill rescue organizations statewide and surrounding states.

4. To help address the dog and cat overpopulation problem in the City of Fresno, HFHAF will partner with local veterinarians to promote subsidized spay and neuter, vaccinations, and micro-chipping.

We exist to help relieve the pressure on our local animal shelters by providing the general public with information and resources to ensure their animal companions are properly cared for.

HFHAF was established to help address the animal welfare issues in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Given that we are a brand new organization, our current resources will be focused primarily on serving the residents of the City of Fresno and their animal companions. Our long-term goal is to extend our services to the surrounding cities in Fresno County and beyond. Therefore, our programs and services will be offered in phases.

Our Adoption Process...
Fees depend on whether animal is already spayed or neutered. Application and contract must be filled out and singed. Home visit required. Pet must be adopted as part of the family. No outside only animals are adopted out.
