My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Single Male, Looking for Love

My name is Jax and I’m a 4 year old black Great Dane. I came to Forever Friends rescue in July and have been waiting for my forever home since then! I’m up to date on all of my vaccinations and I have been neutered.

Some people might mistake me for a bully when my guarding instinct kicks in; but that’s not really the case. All I actually need is to spend quality time in training with my new owner, strong commands and a caring companion! I enjoy a strict schedule and structure in my life, it makes me thrive! Once I find my forever home, I am eager to learn what is expected of me.

I tend to fall hard…both in love and trust, so I get a little protective when I think another four legged friend or a person is going to take my “owner” from me. Sometimes that’s just part of being passed from home to home then to rescue.

I absolutely love to play in the backyard, especially with my foster sister! She and I have a great time and it makes me so happy! I do love my foster mom and she loves me. Sometimes she has to remind me that there are other dogs that need her attention. I am learning to share. I have been trying to protect her because I love her, but I’m learning that guarding is not an acceptable way of showing my love.

I prefer to go to a home without other dogs; I would like to be your only companion. I can’t go to a home with any children because I just don’t understand them. I want to be the only “kid,” whether four legs or two!

Please fill out an application for me today! I can be your perfect companion if given a chance at a forever home. All I ask is that we make training part of our daily schedule and that you give me time to learn what you expect!

Hugs and slobbery kisses,

Jax
