Cassie's Story...
Meet Cassie!

This sweet girl found her way to a nice family that started feeding her in their garage. We really have no idea where she came from. There is a park close by to where she was found along with apartment buildings, so we are thinking that she must have been abandoned, left behind to fend for herself.

Cassie was a very shy girl at first. She was hiding for close to a month, but with lots of yummy food and a safe place, she has come right out of her shell and is a very sweet girl. She likes to chat now and come and follow you around to see what you are up to. She enjoys to have her back scratched and to just be in the company of people. She is a quiet and mellow kitty.

Cassie is fostered with other cats, but we feel her ideal home would be on her own. If her new home had a non-aggressive cat, she would likely adjust just fine. She has not been around dogs since she has been with us, but we feel if the dog is gentle, Cassie would adapt very well.

Cassie has been to the vet and was spayed & vaccinated. She is estimated to be about 2 years old. She would be the perfect little companion kitty for a home that does not want a "sit on you all the time" kind of cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cassie, a Toronto Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
