Oliver's Story...
Meet Oliver! Rescued after being discovered alone on the streets at just 6 weeks of age, Oliver was placed into a feline family that consisted of 7 kittens! What's one more when you already have 7 babies!? Oliver folded right in and was adopted into the family without a hitch. He went from being alone to having 6 brothers and 1 sister to play with - talk about a kittens' dream come true! Oliver really knows how to have a good time - he spends endless hours playing hide-n-seek with his new siblings and can't get enough lovin' from his foster momma.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oliver, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
