Indy's Story...
Meet Indy. She's a year old, 50 pound Boxer/American Bulldog/Greyhound mix - according to the results of the DNA test her owners had done. Indy is up to date with vaccinations as of July 2012, is heartworm negative, on monthly heartworm prevention and is spayed. She's an alert and intelligent girl, who is very eager to please. She knows basic commands and is housebroken, has the run of the house when left alone and sleeps in the owner's bedroom at night. Indy interacts well with adults and the owner's tween grandsons. Unfortunately Indy has become snarly with owner's other dog, so they have decided to rehome her. She loves the dog park and interacts well with the other dogs there. However, we feel Indy should be placed in an only pet household. Is your lonely pet empty home longing for a new forever friend? $80 rehome fee. Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indy, a Baton Rouge Boxer/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/American Bulldog for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Boxer/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/American Bulldog breeders who help with Boxer/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
