My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gallie is a Cattle Dog/Terrier mix and she was born approximately in March 2012. She is brown and white, with brown freckling in her white patches. Gallie is a small medium dog.

Gallie is currently living in a foster home with three other dogs, one of which is a very dominant female. She is being very submissive with the other dogs in the home. She loves to play with them. Gallie will chase a toy, but hasn't figured out yet to bring it back so it can be thrown again. She knows sit and is learning to be patient and to keep all four paws on the floor when excitied. Gallie is crated at night and when the foster is gone. She will also goto her crate to nap, if she is not snuggled up to you. She is a cuddler and wants to be sitting somewhere close to you. Gallie is doing great on her house manners. She is also learning to walk nicely on a leash. Gallie will be a great walking or running buddy - she would love someone that would excercie her daily!!

****Her adoption fee is $275.****

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues—and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
