YOUR NEW PET HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY A VETERINARIAN PRIOR TO THIS ADOPTION. THEREFORE, HE/SHE HAS NOT BEEN SPAYED/NEUTRED, TESTED FOR FIV/FeLV/HW, VACCINATED, TREATED FOR FLEAS, EAR MITES, WORMS AND/OR DIAGNOSED WITH ANY MEDICAL CONDITION. FOCUS ON FERALS DOES NOT REQUIRE AN ADOPTION FEE FOR YOUR NEW COMPANION, HOWEVER, AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND AN INTERVIEW WILL BE REQUIRED. UPON POSSESSION OF YOUR NEW COMPANION, AND PROVIDED THAT HE/SHE IS 8 WEEKS OLD AND IN GOOD HEALTH, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED, BY CONTRACT, TO SCHEDULE A VETERINARY APPOINTMENT WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE DATE OF THIS CONTRACT TO HAVE YOUR PET SPAYED/NEUTERED, VACCINATED, TREATED FOR FLEAS, EAR MITES, AND WORMS (IF APPLICABLE). YOU, THE ADOPTER, WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL VETERINARY EXPENSES. IF YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE YOUR PET TESTED FOR FIV(FELINE AIDS), FeLV(FELINE LEUKEMA), AND HW(HEARTWORM) YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE TEST. IF YOUR NEW PET TESTS POSITIVE FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED AND YOU CHOOSE NOT TO KEEP YOUR PET, YOU NEED TO CONTACT FOCUS ON FERALS IMMEDIATELY AND WE WILL FIND ANOTHER PLACEMENT FOR HIM/HER. IF YOUR PET IS DIAGNOSED WITH FIP(FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITONITIS) CAUSED BY THE CORONAVIRUS AND HAS TO BE HUMANELY EUTHANIZED, FOCUS ON FERALS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VETERINARY EXPENSES INCURRED BY YOU AND YOU AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS FOCUS ON FERALS, ITS MEMBERS, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, VOLUNTEERS, ASSOCIATES, FAMILY MEMBERS AND ANYONE OR BUSINESS ASSOCIATED WITH FOCUS ON FERALS OF ANY LEGAL ACTION AND/OR EXPENSES. ALTHOUGH YOUR NEW COMPANION MAY BE IN YOUR POSSESSION, FOCUS ON FERALS DOES NOT WARRANT COMPLETE CUSTODY UNTIL HE/SHE HAS HAD THE ABOVE MENTIONED VETERINARY CARE AND WE HAVE RECEIVED ALL MEDICAL DOCUMENTS FROM THE VETERINARIAN’S CLINIC. TESTING IS NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR FULL CUSTODY OF YOUR NEW PET.
Rescue Group Info...
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organized in 2011 to reduce the number of homeless felines via TNR (trap-neuter-return). We also take in strays and get them ready for adoption.
We do not have a shelter, only foster homes. Our rescued cats can be visited by appointment only. Please email.
We require a signed Adoption Application and Contract and approval by a Focus on Ferals Representative.
We serve Malone, NY and surrounding communities within Franklin and Clinton County.
