My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wesley is a BIG BOY! Unfortunately he was turned into the AC an overweight boy, by 100lbs. He weighed in at 172lbs, but should be all of 80lbs. Wesley was to meet his demise because of his weight issue. Luckily, Lucky Lab got a hold of his plight and agreed to help him out. It was apparent that his previous family fed him people food aiding to his weight issue and did not care for him properly, then turned him over to AC for unknown reasons. He lost 8lbs the first week he was with us and the vet completed bloodwork indicating that he does suffer from a thyroid condtion. He will have to take meds daily to keep his thyroid in check and he continues to loose weight. His medication is inexpensive (8 dollars a month) and he eats a good nutritional food for that of an 80lb dog. Wesley is a loving boy with his humans and just loves that attention he gets from his foster mommy. Wesley is 4 years old and should weigh 80lbs, however, he is currently at 160lbs. He is not good with cats as he would like to eat them too, but does get along with other dogs. He can be a bit dominant (which does NOT equal aggression) but corrects very easily by a simple command and call of his name. He is very tall and definately a good looking boy. He was too good of a boy to let this weight issue be the reason he leaves this earth. He does get treats (dog treats, not human) occasionaly and takes them nicely. He walks well on lead, is housetrained, has good house manners and will make a great family dog with a family with older children or a single person dog. His foster mom is on a mission to loose weight, so she is taking him for walks to help them both out. Seems to be working for him. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard. If you would like to adopt this good boy and help him in his continued efforts to loose weight, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.
