My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Sean the sweetest and most well-behaved boy, I like playing with stuffy toys, and I am very social and sensitive around other dogs and cats. I was a stray at a rural animal control and they thought I was so special that they made sure I found a spot with Midwest BREW! The shelter was right because I have completely charmed and dazzled my foster home with all my wonderful qualities! My age is estimated at 3 years, and I have so many of the best beagle qualities, yet few of the more notorious scent hound characteristics that you might be thinking of.

Foster mom gave me a beagle report card this week and here is what is says:

A+: Potential to be the best family dog ever - Sean is super laid back, quiet, happy, and sensitive...he would be a great dog for a family that is new to dog ownership or to beagles! Unlike many other beagles, Sean rarely barks and is very quiet dog.

A: Crate training/house training - Sean is exceptionally good in his crate and within one week he learned to go in his crate for meal time. He has been doing really well with housetraining (except for the day it rained). A consistent schedule and crate training will help him learn the routine in a new home.

A-: Toys - Sean loves his stuffy toys and shares with others, but he is still learning the difference between dog beds/pillows and stuffy toys. Substituting an appropriate stuffy toy is a good way to keep Sean from unstuffing a dog bed!

A+: Dog friends - Sean is SUCH a good boy with all the other dogs in the house! He plays nicely with dogs who initiate play with him, and he is very respectful of older dogs who need personal space. Even touchy or grumpy dogs will get along with Sean, and he has never been mean to another dog.

A+: Health & fitness - Sean is taller than most beagles, and his current weight of 30 pounds is perfect. Sean is in great health!

F: Rabbit hunting - Sean has no interest in small furry animals. He ignores cats in the house and just wants to hang out with people. He doesn't even follow scents in the yard. Sean has no future in rabbit hunting and should pursue a career in family companionship.

Thanks everyone for reading my bio and report card - I am really looking forward to my "graduation" to a perfect forever home, so please contact BREW if you think we are a match!
