Thumbelina's Story...
Thumbelina (Tom Thumb's sister) came to us in rough shape. She is about 9 weeks old**, but looks more like she's 3 weeks old based on her size. She is currently taking medication for an upper respiratory infection and vitamins to help her grow. She is also on a special diet. She is FeLV/FIV negative and has been treated for severe roundworms. However, she will not be up for adoption until she is doing better. We will still accept applications for her, though! Contact us for more information about Thumbelina!

** She is about 7 months old now, FeLV/FIV negative, and is up-to-date on vaccines. She will be getting spayed when she gets a little bigger.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thumbelina, a Queensbury Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Queensbury, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Queensbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Queensbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Queensbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Queensbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
