Toby's Story...
If you love the look of Labs but would prefer a smaller dog, your search is over. Toby is a Lab mix born in August 2011 who came to Kiko because his family did not feel they could give him the time he deserved and needed. Toby is about 35 pounds, not too big and not too small, and is used to living in a home with children. He was not socialized very much but his foster is broadening his horizons and he has experienced many new things since coming into the rescue. Toby has been meeting and living with other dogs, and was a little on the shy side so is now getting used to meeting new people. Toby is a great dog who will fit in well with a family that is ready to help to continue building his confidence by taking him for walks and on outings instead of keeping him confined to a backyard.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Rigaud Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
