E-mail I received 9/7/12: My wife, Susan, rescued a sweet, pit bull mix puppy from the middle of the road a couple of days ago. She's about 6 months old, weighs about 30 lbs., not pregnant and no heartworms. She just had her heartworm preventative shot as she is currently being boarded at University Vet Hospital. We can't take her in as we already have 3 dogs- a jack russell, a walker hound and a lab.
