Hattie was in very poor shape when we saved her from the kill list. She had a horrible ear infection, arthritis, an infected mouth and sadly, despite her age, she had been a puppy making factory all her life. Despite all this Hattie could not have been more sweet and loving. We took care of her ear, had five teeth removed and thought we had her on the road to recovery. Sadly she very quickly became very ill with pneumonia and valley fever. With the help of her loving foster mom and aggressive treatment we were able to get her turned back around. Today she's a happy girl as you can see from her photos. She needs to lose a few pounds but we're working on that and of course Hattie is happy to comply. She loves to go out on walks. Nose to the ground, getting all the latest doggie gossip in the neighborhood. Sunbathing and lounging are our sweet girls next favorite activity. She is content to hang about for hours! And after the life she's lead she more then deserves a life of leisure!!
Hattie is a loving gal, good with other dogs although she's not into playing or chasing with them. She is happy to watch the other dogs do there thing while she chews on a bone or contemplates the meaning of life! :)
Hattie always seems to have a smile on her adorable face and that would be a perfect description of her - happy! No matter what has happened to her she has maintained her lovely disposition.
Hattie is looking for a home where she can go on daily walks, roll or lay in the grass, have a nice selection of chew toys, some snuggle time and of course a home where she can be loved and cherished for all the days of her life! Hattie is a gem of a dog and would make anyone such a wonderful companion. Her happiness is definitely contagious to all those around her but our sweet girl is always willing to share!
