Mike's Story...
Mike is a 10 month old Chihuahua/min pin mix. He weighs 8 pounds. Mike was picked up as a stray. Mike loves other dogs of all sizes and he likes to be part of a “pack.”. He is very sweet and affectionate, but he can be a little shy around strangers. He loves to walk on his leash. Mike is in a foster home and he is working on his housetraining. He also is recovering from kennel cough and needs to be neutered, so he will not be able to go to a forever home until the end of September.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mike, a Richmond Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
