My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Suzie! Suzie is a very sweet, affectionate, 5 year old female. She was dumped near a shelter, and was on the loose in some woods for 2 weeks before they were finally able to trap her. She was completely terrified (who could blame her after the horrible way she was treated by her previous 'owners').

Suzie had obviously not had decent care for quite some time. Her nails are terribly overgrown, her coat was a mess, and she's extremely thin. We also suspect she's been mistreated, and she's really head shy. But she is safe now, and we are working on teaching her that not all people are bad, and her luck in life has changed.

Suzie has not been at all agressive with the other dogs in her foster home. She tries to avoid them for the most part. She has been extremely affectionate with her foster family, so we fully expect her to make a complete revcovery with a little time and a lot of love.

Suzie is utd on routine vaccinations, flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. She has been spayed and microchipped.

Please Click Here to fill out an application. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until this has been completed and received.

Suzie must go to an indoor home where she will be an important part of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.

Note: Mid-South Shepherd Rescue is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter location. Our dogs are kept in foster homes as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their forever homes. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please contact us by clicking on the email address to your right. We will be glad to make arrangements for a meeting.
