Palermo's Story...
My name is Palermo, and I am one of a litter of 5.  Our mama is Sicily and each of us has the name of a city in Sicily – Syracuse, Palermo, Catania, Taormina, and Messina.  We were rescued by HART the day after we were born, and our mama Sicily and our foster mommy took very good care of us.  Our mama even took on an orphaned kitten, so we have an adopted sister named Bellissimo.  We sure are a healthy and active bunch.  I am a tiger, in look and attitude.  When I catch my prey (i.e., toys), I growl and show everyone what a ferocious and accomplished hunter I am.  Whenever my foster mommy is in our room, I am right there with her, wanting to play and I like to meow at her and make my presence known.  I sometimes bite her feet, but I don’t bite hard.  I am very outgoing, and I like everyone.  I don’t hiss at new kitties when I meet them.  I am pretty sure I will be an awesome member of any family.

All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative.

If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at http://www.rescueahart.org/catadoptionapplication.asp. The application will put you in touch with this wonderful cat's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Palermo, a Cincinnati Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
